Individual Therapy Ventura California

When we experience feelings of pain, despair, anxiety, sadness or confusion because of a situation that we confront, we often try desperately to change the situation or others. The feelings can be unbearable and overwhelming. This is a good time to consider individual therapy or counseling.

Whatever reasons you may have, therapy is a good opportunity for self-exploration, self-awareness, and self-growth. And often healing begins in the therapeutic process.

Getting Started
If therapy is new to you, you may feel apprehensive or uncertain about getting started. You may not know how therapy works, or which therapist is right for you. I’m happy to provide a brief phone consultation to discuss your situations and answer questions.

My Approach
In therapy, I will help you explore and cope with overwhelming emotions, learn effective coping skills and strategies, deal with personal challenges and difficult situations, and build on your strengths and resources. Sometimes, if appropriate, I will help you look at your past history and its impacts on your life situations. When personal challenges are worked through, many emotionally rewarding and life-changing experiences are awaiting ahead.

Therapy is conducted in a confidential, safe, comfortable environment. With your permission, I often consult with your physician or psychiatrist to coordinate your care.

Psychological Evaluations
To assess emotional and social functioning of adults.
